Monday Madness at NYFW

Okay, there's only two days left for NYFW but what a Monday it was! Marc by Marc, Vera Wang and Narciso Rodriguez were all so different but just perfectly New York. With Calvin Klein and Oscar De La Renta still to show, I decided to do a post just on the Monday Madness at NYFW.

Marc By Marc Jacobs S/S 10

I just love how...fun this is. Compared to the Marc Jacobs range this seems like a watered down more accessible version of Louis Vuitton F/W 09.10. It feels very Teen Vogue to me, and that's a huge compliment - I can't wait to make a DIY version of these silk bandana's with bright lipstick. It's now grown up dressing, but rather dressing your age - it's exactly how I imagined Jenny from Gossip Girl should dress, but she decided to take the Courtney Love route.

Vera Wang S/S 10

Vera Wang is a designer who I often feel is underrated. Yes, she gets the attention in US Vogue and she has her fair share of red carpet moments, but I would love to see some of the young starlets wear her designs more often. There's an understated romance and class to her designs that short party dresses from Herve Leger just can't offer. Imagine Leighton Meester or Diane Kruger is on one of these dresses, it would be such a nice change of pace to see someone really showcasing her designs.

Narciso Rodriguez S/S 10

Something I love about Narciso is his use of texture and colour. The 3rd image with the sheer skirt and sculptured heavy fabric over the top is such a perfect example of it. Although his colour palette is usually neutrals with flashes of colour every now and then somehow it never looks boring.
