<br />Elite Models NY Front Cover
<br />Now that I'm officially a graduate (eeek!), I find myself focusing just a little more intently on fashion week, in particular the preliminary buzz around the new faces (which I usually picked up towards the end of NYFW). I found myself on the ever brilliant models.com and finally had time to look through the show packages, and I can't believe I left it so long! The creativity, wit and style have gone into the images - Ford Models was a particular favourite of mine - makes it worth spending some time with show packages, if for no other reason to pick out your top 10 of the season.
<br /><img src="http://img11.imageshack.us/img11/6869/02karmenpedaru.jpg" />
<br />Karmen Pedaru @ Ford Models.
<br /><img src="http://img705.imageshack.us/img705/9009/taylora.jpg" />
<br />Taylor Nicole @ Next (in what will be her first full season).

<br />My favourite model in years, Aymeline @ Women Direct
<br /><img src="http://img833.imageshack.us/img833/5452/anaiso.jpg" />
<br />Anais @ Trump.

<br />Blanca @Ford.
<br />
<br />This may seem a little Ford-centric, but I'm so impressed with their showcards and their board. So here's one more:

Here are my favourite looks, make up and accessories from the wonderful world of couture:<br /><br /><img src="http://img832.imageshack.us/img832/3727/00240mt.jpg" /><br /><img src="http://img254.imageshack.us/img254/8271/01080m.jpg" /><br /><img src="http://img140.imageshack.us/img140/7541/01050m.jpg" /><br /><img src="http://img822.imageshack.us/img822/8623/00760m.jpg" /><br /><img src="http://img91.imageshack.us/img91/6332/00070mn.jpg" /><br /><img src="http://img91.imageshack.us/img91/4791/00080m.jpg" /><br /><img src="http://img199.imageshack.us/img199/3083/05m.jpg" /><br /><img src="http://img832.imageshack.us/img832/8224/00660m.jpg" /><br /><img src="http://img692.imageshack.us/img692/2192/00810m.jpg" /><br /><img src="http://img718.imageshack.us/img718/7714/00480m.jpg" /><br /><br />It would see there is a new optimism in Paris these few days, these looks are so light and airy - even at Armani with it's futuristic light reflecting materials. This has been one of my favourite couture seasons for awhile, even though Chanel was more subdued than usual I love the silhouette of the long floaty skirt with satin pointy flat shoes. I can't believe I'm starting to favour flats over heels, but such is the power of Karl Lagerfeld</div>Daniellahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09909219185441618351noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-172081458801425804.post-48901073201337810092011-01-21T13:42:00.003+00:002011-01-21T13:59:34.997+00:00Aymeline Valade<div style="text-align: center;"><img src="http://img97.imageshack.us/img97/4010/streetstyle3543copy.jpg" /><br />I have been desperate to post about this new face! I'm not sure why I've left it so long but I just had to share, as she has the most captivating look. Aymeline Valade, represented by Women model management and FM Models in London made her major debut at Balenciaga S/S 11:<br /><br /><img src="http://img715.imageshack.us/img715/2029/00100hn.jpg" /><img src="http://img52.imageshack.us/img52/3938/balenciagadetrtwsept201.jpg" /><br /><br />After her appearance, things got a little quieter but then the Pre Fall collections came out and she only made an appearance for Balenciaga and Alexander Wang. If there were two brands to ever make a models career these are the ones to appear with:<br /><img src="http://s016.radikal.ru/i336/1101/93/55301f139cb3.jpg" /><img src="http://img148.imageshack.us/img148/7803/imageeu.jpg" /><br />(Balenciaga Pre-Fall & Alexander Wang Pre-Fall)<br /><br />She has such an intense look, that photographs beautifully. Then she appeared in the first Alexander Wang mainline campaign (shot by Craig McDean)<br /><img src="http://i.imgur.com/RxG2M.jpg" /><br /><br />And today her appearance in Interview Feb/March (again shot by McDean) has been published on models.com:<br /><br /><img src="http://img59.imageshack.us/img59/1639/012011interview5700x914.jpg" /><br /><img src="http://img407.imageshack.us/img407/9788/012011interview700x914.jpg" /><br /><img src="http://img267.imageshack.us/img267/542/012011interview8700x914.jpg" /><br /><span style="font-size:78%;">(models.com)</span><br /><br /><br /><span style="font-size:78%;"><span style="font-size:100%;">Aymeline really rocks the tomboy clothes, and doesn't get lost in Karl Templer's exquisite styling. For a new face, she photographs in such a confident self-assured way. I'm so intrigued to see what the next runway season brings for her, whether she will appear everywhere or just walk a select few blue chip runway appearances.</span></span><br /><span style="font-size:78%;"><span style="font-size:100%;"></span></span></div>Daniellahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09909219185441618351noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-172081458801425804.post-87965446411206154092011-01-21T13:18:00.002+00:002011-01-21T13:35:28.646+00:00Joan, revisited<div style="text-align: center;">It feels like so long since I've been posting regularly, but the last three months I've been wrapped up in my dissertation, but the 10,000 words are done, bound and handed in. I can finally get back to blogging - a month before the A/W 11 shows kick off! I'm lucky enough to be at London Fashion Week again this season, and I'm really hoping to bump into a certain Joan Smalls. I first blogged about her all the way back in<a href="http://betweeneveryline.blogspot.com/2010/04/miss-joan.html"> April 2010</a> and I was just thinking how far she has come.<br /><br />For the S/S 11 campaign season she has both Gucci and Roberto Cavalli:<br /><img src="http://s1.postimage.org/unqwnq024/166370_10150120167611013_44596321012_8187623_805.jpg" /><br /><img src="http://img717.imageshack.us/img717/8662/image0012z.jpg" /><br /><img src="http://img403.imageshack.us/img403/7431/cavalliss113.jpg" /><br /><br />...and she's rumoured to appear in the (as yet unpublished) Stella McCartney campaign.<br /><br />My favourite of her recent run of work, however is this editorial:<br /><img src="http://img801.imageshack.us/img801/8273/joan3.jpg" /><img src="http://img171.imageshack.us/img171/4068/joan4.jpg" /><img src="http://img651.imageshack.us/img651/5515/joan1v.jpg" /><img src="http://img830.imageshack.us/img830/1254/joan7.jpg" /><br /><span style="font-size:78%;">all images scanned by the wonderful users at TFS.</span><br /><br />Shot by Mario Sorrenti it appears in the February issue of Vogue Paris. Joan is such a great mover, and in this editorial she has the presence of a veteran model with her compelling gaze and awareness of how the clothes move. She's one of the most versatile models today.<br /><br />I can't wait to see the Stella McCartney campaign!<br /></div>Daniellahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09909219185441618351noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-172081458801425804.post-36655855249570413132010-12-22T12:44:00.003+00:002010-12-22T12:57:17.443+00:00Work Magazine<div style="text-align: center;">Finding this magazine feels like an early Christmas present. I'm an avid reader of TheFashionSpot and have been for many years, and whilst browsing it the other day I found such a wonderful new(ish) magazine - Work magazine.<br /><br /><img src="http://i52.tinypic.com/2jd3tdt.jpg" /><br />Isn't that such a striking cover? The cover star is model Tasha Tilberg, who isn't as regular on the runways as she used to be, but she she still pops up in only the coolest publications. Just looking at this cover is making me want to get a septum piercing.<br /><br /><img src="http://img403.imageshack.us/img403/940/v129255115416177282.jpg" /><br />There's not alot of information about the magazine but from what I can gather it's a quarterly based art/fashion magazine, this is issue number three. It's also prooving difficult to track down a copy, for all of you in LA you can pick up a copy at the Marc Jacobs bookstore on Melrose (as if you need an excuse to go down there anyway!). Otherwise, you can order online via the<a href="http://www.theworkmag.com/#807784/Order"> website</a>. If you have a a spare five minutes head on over to the website, and have a browse through because I'm so excited to see a a magazine like this, with one of my favourite cover stars. I can't wait to see how this exciting project develops.<br /></div>Daniellahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09909219185441618351noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-172081458801425804.post-27989075999430515542010-12-05T21:15:00.004+00:002010-12-05T21:27:28.749+00:00Jewellery fit for a superhero<div style="text-align: center;">This has to be coolest collaboration I've seen for ages. Noir Jewellery + DC Comics! I'm sure everyone has an inner comic book geek side to themselves. I, for one, love Batman. I have done since I was a little kid.<br />These suitably dark jewels will certainly stand out from all the Disney jewellery around at the moment, and it would be a definite talking point.<br /><img src="http://www.noirjewelry.com/images/product/icon/568_1_gunmetal.jpg?maxwidth=520&maxheight=520" /><br />Bat Girl Dome Ring, $300<br /><br /><img src="http://www.noirjewelry.com/images/product/icon/576_1_rhodium.jpg?maxwidth=520&maxheight=520" /><br />Catwoman claw earrings $235<br /><br /><img src="http://www.noirjewelry.com/images/product/icon/575_1_gold.jpg?maxwidth=520&maxheight=520" /><br />Supergirl necklace $500<br /><br />And my absolute favourite is the mini Gotham city ring, it would look amazing with a dramatic black cocktail dress<br /><img src="http://www.noirjewelry.com/images/product/icon/566_1_gunmetal.jpg?maxwidth=520&maxheight=520" /><br />Gotham City Ring $225<br /><br />Fly on over to <a href="http://www.noirjewelry.com/%27">http://www.noirjewelry.com/</a> to check out the full range!<br /></div>Daniellahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09909219185441618351noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-172081458801425804.post-39856931934773602002010-12-02T18:28:00.004+00:002010-12-02T19:41:21.688+00:00All wrapped up<div style="text-align: center;">I'm literally snowed in. There's a foot of snow outside now, and as the UK have been unable to deal with it I've been spending a lot of time online (oh and baking snowflake cupcakes!). Two of my favourite editorials I've found today, I just had to share here:<br /><br />Metal Magazine 21<br />Julia Nobis by Can Evgin<br /><IMG SRC=http://img687.imageshack.us/img687/9185/image1pj.jpg><br /><IMG SRC=http://img35.imageshack.us/img35/565/image3gs.jpg><br /><IMG SRC=http://img152.imageshack.us/img152/3699/image4ux.jpg><br /><IMG SRC=http://img687.imageshack.us/img687/2554/image6ed.jpg><br /><IMG SRC=http://img23.imageshack.us/img23/8514/image7n0.jpg><br /><br />The next editorial is from Russh magazine, and I know I post about this magazine alot, but it's absolutely brilliant, and so worth tracking down. If you're in London you should be able to find it in Selfridges or RD Franks. <br />Russh Decemeber/January 2011<br />Cassi Van Den Dungen by Will Davidson<br /><IMG SRC=http://img413.imageshack.us/img413/7864/2pattisoncursewilldavid.jpg><br /><IMG SRC=http://img15.imageshack.us/img15/8067/3pattisoncursewilldavid.jpg><br /><IMG SRC=http://img269.imageshack.us/img269/8226/4pattisoncursewilldavid.jpg><br /><IMG SRC=http://img139.imageshack.us/img139/1938/5pattisoncursewilldavid.jpg><br /><IMG SRC=http://img52.imageshack.us/img52/3538/6pattisoncursewilldavid.jpg><br /><IMG SRC=http://img227.imageshack.us/img227/8070/7pattisoncursewilldavid.jpg><br />These editorials highlight how beautiful masculine, oversize clothes are on such feminine models with strong features. It's an interesting trend that's emerging in some of the indie magazines. I was pleasantly surprised to see it showcased on the red carpet by Leighton Meester:<br /><IMG SRC=http://img695.imageshack.us/img695/869/5xnxp.jpg><br /><IMG SRC=http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/5472/zw4nz.jpg><br />She looks so sexy in this look, it's slightly disheveled which works and I like the flowing curled hair. I'm going to be copying these looks, just as soon as the snow disappears, because there is nothing attractive about having to wear ten sets of layers all the time.</div>Daniellahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09909219185441618351noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-172081458801425804.post-16013752345743492462010-11-16T22:35:00.003+00:002010-11-16T22:56:45.112+00:00WInter Inspiration<div style="text-align: center;">Sorry for the Tumblr like feel of this post, I just wanted to post some of my favourite looks for winter (and of course Rihanna had to sneak in too!)<br /><IMG SRC=http://img245.imageshack.us/img245/1844/00fed72e1404.jpg><br /><IMG SRC=http://img9.imageshack.us/img9/4754/47074346.jpg><br /><IMG SRC=http://img545.imageshack.us/img545/836/64487rihannaruffles0712.jpg><br /><IMG SRC=http://img28.imageshack.us/img28/4935/tumblrlaigpownbq1qb29kv.jpg><br /><IMG SRC=http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/7342/image17s.jpg><br /><IMG SRC=http://img585.imageshack.us/img585/9796/katieshillingford.png><br /><IMG SRC=http://img403.imageshack.us/img403/5914/b26pg.png><br /><IMG SRC=http://img34.imageshack.us/img34/1656/34o6ae0.jpg><br /><IMG SRC=http://img293.imageshack.us/img293/2566/24bnki9.jpg><br /><IMG SRC=http://www.whyfame.com/gossip/2009/july/17/rihanna_has_a_shaved_hairdo_main_11079.jpg></div>Daniellahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09909219185441618351noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-172081458801425804.post-50927628449943541152010-11-09T17:08:00.003+00:002010-11-09T19:26:18.029+00:00Back to Black<div style="text-align: center;">Sorry for the terrible lack of posts! I'm trapped in dissertation madness right now, but very much enjoying it. I'm in such a classic mood right now, but I'm also stuck just wearing black all the time. Luckily, Mary Kate & Ashley Olsen have really perfected how to mix different fabrics whilst making all black still look fantastically modern and put together. They seem to really be in tune with their style right now, and I love how luxurious and wearable this look is:<br /><br /><IMG SRC=http://img602.imageshack.us/img602/8799/ashleyolsenwwd100thanni.jpg><br /><IMG SRC=http://img703.imageshack.us/img703/776/wahybt.jpg><br /><IMG SRC=http://img266.imageshack.us/img266/5852/u2867008524049841.jpg><br /><IMG SRC=http://img149.imageshack.us/img149/9999/t28855504314738343.jpg><br /><IMG SRC=http://img233.imageshack.us/img233/5536/i286622046147481222.jpg><br /><IMG SRC=http://img831.imageshack.us/img831/3419/g2893273213798166.jpg><br /><br /><br />Oh, and want a piece of The Olsens style? So of course my thoughts turn to fur coats, I own a vintage fox fur coat with huge shoulder pads but I love seeing the way fur is styled. This editorial is from 1999 and published in US Harpers Bazaar starring Frankie Rayder (seriously, if you're not familiar with her work, check her out she's as sexy as Freja). I'm taking a trip to Budapest in December, and I'm fur hats and coats are going to be the only way to stay warm.<br /><IMG SRC=http://img2.imageshack.us/img2/3216/ktpv0b5a7cd.jpg><br /><IMG SRC=http://img826.imageshack.us/img826/5503/ku8s9b5a7cd.jpg><br /><IMG SRC=http://img718.imageshack.us/img718/8155/kuaxib5a7cd.jpg><br /><IMG SRC=http://img229.imageshack.us/img229/4069/ktfwrb5a7cd.jpg><br /><IMG SRC=http://img709.imageshack.us/img709/3425/kto3rb5a7cd.jpg><br /><IMG SRC=http://img295.imageshack.us/img295/7554/ktr9b5a7cd.jpg></div>Daniellahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09909219185441618351noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-172081458801425804.post-44121282891861286062010-10-03T22:27:00.001+01:002010-10-03T22:35:39.607+01:00Hairnets at Yohji Yamamoto<IMG SRC=http://i52.tinypic.com/i19zdg.jpg>Daniellahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09909219185441618351noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-172081458801425804.post-3695823637114605892010-09-29T13:20:00.006+01:002010-09-29T13:43:23.068+01:00Something about Milan...<div style="text-align: center;"><IMG SRC=http://img337.imageshack.us/img337/6886/dsquared2clprs110238sli.jpg><br />Frida Gustavsson at Dsquared...an unusual source of inspiration.<br /><br />There must be something strange in the champagne over at Milan fashion week, because my usual fvaourites; Jil Sander, Fendi & Prada were huge let downs for me. The biggest being Jil Sander, the shapes were unflattering even on the models and Anna Wintour spent the whole show tapping away at her Blackberry. For me, it's the most disspointing collection since Raf Simons joined the house.<br />So where did the great looks come from? I never though I'd say this but Roberto Cavalli and Dsquared2 are what I remember most about Milan. Believe me, it pains me to say this. Of course Bottega Veneta is never a let down, Alberta Feretti was stunning and Marni was wonderful.<br /><br /><IMG SRC=http://www.style.com/slideshows/2010/fashionshows/S2011RTW/DSQUARE/RUNWAY/00340m.jpg><IMG SRC=http://www.style.com/slideshows/2010/fashionshows/S2011RTW/DSQUARE/BEAUTY/00460m.jpg><IMG SRC=http://www.style.com/slideshows/2010/fashionshows/S2011RTW/BVENETA/RUNWAY/00080m.jpg><IMG SRC=http://www.style.com/slideshows/2010/fashionshows/S2011RTW/BVENETA/RUNWAY/00130m.jpg><IMG SRC=http://www.style.com/slideshows/2010/fashionshows/S2011RTW/MAXMARA/RUNWAY/00270m.jpg><IMG SRC=http://www.style.com/slideshows/2010/fashionshows/S2011RTW/MAXMARA/RUNWAY/00440m.jpg><IMG SRC=http://www.style.com/slideshows/2010/fashionshows/S2011RTW/RBTOCVLL/RUNWAY/00360m.jpg><IMG SRC=http://www.style.com/slideshows/2010/fashionshows/S2011RTW/RBTOCVLL/RUNWAY/00310m.jpg><IMG SRC=http://www.style.com/slideshows/2010/fashionshows/S2011RTW/RBTOCVLL/RUNWAY/00180m.jpg><br />(Dsquared S/S 11, Dsquared S/S 11, Bottega Veneta S/S 11, Bottega Veneta S/S 11, Maxmara S/S 11, Maxmara S/S 11, Roberto Cavalli S/S 11, Roberto Cavalli S/S 11.<br /><br />I mean this Roberto Cavalli collection is just so...Shakira in the Whenever, Wherever video. Maybe after what feels like three weeks of minimalism at NY, London and parts of Milan I can find a Roberto Cavalli collection wildly fun. There's fringing! Sequins! Snake Print!. Another stand out is the wonderful make up, courtesy of the master, Pat McGrath. This has to be the most flattering and simple make up I've seen in Milan it made all the models look incredible:<br /><br /><IMG SRC=http://www.style.com/slideshows/2010/fashionshows/S2011RTW/RBTOCVLL/BEAUTY/00240m.jpg><IMG SRC=http://www.style.com/slideshows/2010/fashionshows/S2011RTW/RBTOCVLL/BEAUTY/00360m.jpg><IMG SRC=http://www.style.com/slideshows/2010/fashionshows/S2011RTW/RBTOCVLL/BEAUTY/00320m.jpg><IMG SRC=http://www.style.com/slideshows/2010/fashionshows/S2011RTW/RBTOCVLL/BEAUTY/00420m.jpg><br /><br />I just can't help loving it, maybe my mind will change after seeing Paris. </div>Daniellahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09909219185441618351noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-172081458801425804.post-61994012818905805062010-09-20T18:38:00.003+01:002010-09-20T19:00:58.612+01:00I ♥ LFWI may be incredibly biased but London Fashion Week has to my favourite fashion week, it's always so varied, interesting and relevant. I'm so lucky to have been able to attend the shows for the last three seasons, and I've finally had a spare half an hour to catch up on the best of LFW. After an especially monotonous NYFW (seriously, was it just me or was everything the same? Proenza and Donna Karan were the only stand outs) it's a welcome return to colour - glorious colour - at LFW.<br /><br /><IMG SRC=http://www.style.com/slideshows/2010/fashionshows/S2011RTW/HFULTON/RUNWAY/00100m.jpg><IMG SRC=http://www.style.com/slideshows/2010/fashionshows/S2011RTW/PPILOTTO/RUNWAY/00080m.jpg><IMG SRC=http://www.style.com/slideshows/2010/fashionshows/S2011RTW/PPILOTTO/RUNWAY/00320m.jpg><IMG SRC=http://www.style.com/slideshows/2010/fashionshows/S2011RTW/ACNE/RUNWAY/00070m.jpg><IMG SRC=http://www.style.com/slideshows/2010/fashionshows/S2011RTW/ABERARD/RUNWAY/00250m.jpg><IMG SRC=http://www.style.com/slideshows/2010/fashionshows/S2011RTW/MKATRANTZOU/RUNWAY/00110m.jpg><br />Holly Fulton S/S 11, Peter Pilotto S/S 11, Peter Pilotto S/S 11, Acne S/S 11, Antonio Berardi S/S 11, Mary Katratzou S/S 11.<br /><br />London certainly hasn't ignored the minimalist trend that swept through New York but through a variety of fabrics and cuts London has really stood out for making minimalism look fun in a way that only London designers can do.<br /><IMG SRC=http://www.style.com/slideshows/2010/fashionshows/S2011RTW/PPILOTTO/RUNWAY/00030m.jpg><IMG SRC=http://www.style.com/slideshows/2010/fashionshows/S2011RTW/JMACDONA/RUNWAY/00080m.jpg><IMG SRC=http://www.style.com/slideshows/2010/fashionshows/S2011RTW/ACNE/RUNWAY/00190m.jpg><IMG SRC=http://www.style.com/slideshows/2010/fashionshows/S2011RTW/HMARSHALL/RUNWAY/00010m.jpg><br />Peter Pilotto S/S 11, Julien Macdonald S/S 11, Acne S/S 11, Hannah Marshall S/S 11.Daniellahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09909219185441618351noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-172081458801425804.post-19706780575433913982010-09-20T18:25:00.002+01:002010-09-20T18:37:45.091+01:00LFW Day 2: Simon Ekrelius<div style="text-align: center;"> If you've ever wondered what rain weather couture would look like. I think I've found the answer. The Simon Ekrelius show at On/Off on Saturday was a collision of transparent fabrics, dramatic hats and amazing plays on monochrome. I think the models have to be applauded too, for walking in nothing but a completely transparent trench coat.<br /><br />I was lucky enough to go backstage before the show, and I got this fabulous shot of Simon himself in a DIY t-shirt he had made that morning:<br /><br /><img src="http://img843.imageshack.us/img843/5932/img7655x.jpg" /><br /><br />I think that perfectly sums up most Londoner's feelings about the Pope visit to the city that no one actually wanted. Ahem.<br /><br />Back to the clothes. The styling was wonderful, with peach coloured lips and lilac extensions running through the hair to take a more paired down approach to the two tone colour hair that was so prevalent last season.<br /><img src="http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs689.snc4/62910_157918470900667_128902453802269_455517_4540150_n.jpg" /><br />These have to be the town stand out pieces from the show. But the show also featured some fantastic pointed shoulder pads, high waisted monchrome leather trousers and more wearable playsuits.<br /><img src="http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash2/hs324.ash2/60442_157918250900689_128902453802269_455497_127238_n.jpg" /><br /><img src="http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash2/hs348.ash2/62815_157918270900687_128902453802269_455498_4264837_n.jpg" /><br /><br /><span style="font-size:78%;">(all images apart from DIY t-shirt from On/Off Facebook page)</span><br /></div>Daniellahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09909219185441618351noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-172081458801425804.post-12826959175479471872010-09-20T17:36:00.005+01:002010-09-20T18:25:02.051+01:00LFW Day 1: Eun Jeong presentation<img src="http://img842.imageshack.us/img842/9296/img7524i.jpg" /><br />I was thrilled to get a chance to view the Eun Jeong presentation for my first show of London Fashion Week S/S 11. Presentations can feel a little cold, and impersonal but in a building above Covent Garden Eun Jeong hosted a beautiful presentation, with an intimate atmosphere.<br /><img src="http://img256.imageshack.us/img256/7732/img7522t.jpg" /><br /><img src="http://img827.imageshack.us/my.php?image=" jpg="" /><br /><img src="http://img827.imageshack.us/img827/3565/img7531c.jpg" /><br /><img src="http://img440.imageshack.us/my.php?image=" jpg="" /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="http://img148.imageshack.us/img148/3548/img7536i.jpg" /><br /><img src="http://img227.imageshack.us/img227/9932/img7549f.jpg" /><br />The 2008 Fashion Fringe showcased a collection with wonderful draping and interesting digital prints as well as the sparkliest shoes I'd seen so far at London Fashion Week and with a very practical heel too!<br />Models were draped around the room, lounging on antique chairs or leaning on furntiture decked with trinkets, whilst soft lighting and gentle music set the tone. Eun named English summers as a key inspiration for the collection and you can really see from the pictures how this translated into the garments.<br /><img src="http://img801.imageshack.us/my.php?image=" jpg="" /><br /><img src="http://img714.imageshack.us/my.php?image=" jpg="" /><br /><br />Oh, and the perfect way to finish off? Their style couldn't be more different, with Frida favouring laid back tailoring and brilliant pops of colour whilst Hanne favours a more grunge and extreme look. Both styles are equally distinctive. I love these two pictures from NY Fashion week because it perfectly demonstrates the difference between the two models but also sums up their street style appeal:<br /><br /><img src="http://img834.imageshack.us/img834/4180/qjilaee17.jpg" /><br />Frida Gustavsson @ IMG Models.<br /><br /><img src="http://img84.imageshack.us/img84/9683/o90j0w.jpg" /><br />Hanne Gaby-Odiele @ Supreme models.<br /></div>Daniellahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09909219185441618351noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-172081458801425804.post-89733976308581538342010-09-10T20:42:00.003+01:002010-09-10T20:44:34.365+01:00Stam goes from runway to front row<div style="text-align: center;"><img src="http://img691.imageshack.us/img691/4320/103970085.jpg" /><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="http://img528.imageshack.us/img528/6082/103969945.jpg" /><br /></div><br /><div style="text-align: center;">Jessica Stam at Rag&Bone Spring 2011. Fashion's Night Out was again an amazing experience, and it seemed to have got alot bigger this year with more shops and celebrities taking part. My first shop of the night was Marc by Marc Jacobs on Mount Street where you could get a free Marc Jacobs Bang t-shirt, complete with naked Marc on the front and you could become a campaign star for the day:<br /><br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhKqsSX1cYhnXKC-aZ1QnAGHTj2aQ4CDNUvvWQkKOIykb-cGJN5jOzbukZp7qD-kflu6FDROllC-WbXDeHZ3g34FkGv0P6M10s9UY8B_TStGsGpT3y04vrsfPhcrfoWAuge8pL3O3UV0Y/s1600/use.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 439px; height: 660px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhKqsSX1cYhnXKC-aZ1QnAGHTj2aQ4CDNUvvWQkKOIykb-cGJN5jOzbukZp7qD-kflu6FDROllC-WbXDeHZ3g34FkGv0P6M10s9UY8B_TStGsGpT3y04vrsfPhcrfoWAuge8pL3O3UV0Y/s400/use.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5514976600887764610" border="0" /></a><br />(Me, with the red lips and Sarah from <a href="http://citygirlsfashionbox.blogspot.com/">City Girls Fashion Box!)<br /></a></div>Daniellahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09909219185441618351noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-172081458801425804.post-45219632140970787652010-09-07T19:06:00.003+01:002010-09-07T19:15:25.368+01:00MAC's guide to Cat Eye Make Up<div style="text-align: center;">I usually avoid posting about make up, because there's just so much going on in the world of beauty I would like to do it justice, and not just post about something everyone already knows about. I'm also a bit of a beauty amateur, so I was so glad to find a really helpful make up tutorial from fashionista.com + MAC cosmetics. It makes what can be a very daunting make up style achievable, and with all the 1960's inspired clothes for the fall season, now is the perfect time to get practicing.<br /><br /><object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/ftg1ZKWs1aM?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/ftg1ZKWs1aM?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object><br /><br />Whilst I'm on the subject of beauty, I just have to share Tom Ford's new Black Orchid nail polish:<br /><br /><img src="http://fashion.elle.com/.a/6a00d834527a7669e20134870f3b34970c-800wi" /><br /><br />Isn't that the perfect shade? It's dark and luxurious and a great shade for fall. I'm starting to get so excited about the fall season, and with Fashion's Night Out tomorrow I'm going to be trying out some of the new fall looks on offer.<br /><br />Have a great Fashion's Night Out!<br /><br /><br /></div>Daniellahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09909219185441618351noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-172081458801425804.post-27744145634501278632010-09-01T20:45:00.004+01:002010-09-01T21:25:19.870+01:00The science behind your jeans<div style="text-align: center;"><img src="http://img269.imageshack.us/img269/4512/scurveidlykkelibts1.jpg" /><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">(Lykke Li being fitted for her Curve ID jeans)<br /><br />Regular readers of my blog (I hope there's at least one!) will know I've had a long love affair with Levi's. Everything from the campaigns, to the fit and to that wonderful rich heritage. Well, now Levi's have only gone and done it again; they've finally created jeans that fit to your shape rather than your size.<br />For many women jeans shopping is a nightmare, trying to find somewhere that fits on legs, waist and ass is near enough impossible. Today I was lucky enough to be one of the first to experience Levi's new <span style="font-weight: bold;">Curve ID<span style="font-style: italic;"><span style="font-style: italic;"> </span></span></span>range:<br /><br /><object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/M1zOG-zM8_c?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/M1zOG-zM8_c?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object><br />The campaign stars Pixie Geldof, Lykke Li & Miss Nine, and shot by the amazing Peter Lindbergh:<br /><img src="http://img638.imageshack.us/img638/6281/scurveidgroup.jpg" /><br />I've never seen double denim look so good, I'm obsessed with the Levi's jean shirts too. I can gladly report that the jeans fit like a dream (I'm a slight curve) and are so comfortable! I've had far too many pairs of jeans that have no stretch and I have to lie on the floor to put them on...not such a great look. Luckily this service is coming to all Levi's stores as well as House of Fraser & Harrods, and it's so useful to find out what shape you are instead of size. Once you've had your measurements taken, a curve consultant takes you through all the washes and cuts, I could have spend hours trying on all the different styles but opted for a dark wash in the skinny cut.<br /><br />I'm already recommending the service to my friends!<br /></div>Daniellahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09909219185441618351noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-172081458801425804.post-76810883760260579022010-08-29T20:38:00.002+01:002010-08-29T20:50:05.003+01:00On The Road Again<div style="text-align: center;">This is the most beautifully intimate editorial I've seen for such a long time, it's such a simple idea but executed beautifully.
