Autumn Love Affair

Why do I do it? I shouldn't visit Net-A-Porter, Matches, Saks & Barney's website, it's so maddeningly depressing. I think it's the appeal of seeing runway favorites being turned into commerce and how they appear without all the wonderful styling, make up and runway. As these images will just fester on my laptop, whilst I whist fully sigh at their beauty I thought I may as well share them. Note the depressingly dreary colour pallette, but bear in mind there hasn't been a ray of sun in London for what feels like months, and I'd love to snuggle up in the cashmere The Row grey top.

Staying home on a Friday night with nothing more than the internet for company is so dangerous, but at least I can dream.

NYFW (Part 2)

Uhm. How can I put this? Alexander Wang was a mess. Back in June I blogged about his wonderful resort show, it had evening wear that wasn't just a short sexy party dress and the grey top and beige 3/4 trousers were such a new direction for him. So it was with great confusion I looked at style.com this morning at the pictures from his latest show:

It's a leather jacket, with a white bikini top, a skirt made out of a shirt, grey footless socks and leopard print boots. This would all be passable but Alexander said after the show he wanted "We want to create clothes that are timeless and classic". The only thing classic about this is the leather jacket and even that's not great.

If a collection even manages to make Natasha Poly look bad...

...then it has real problems.

However, NYFW this far has been about the newer brands: United Bamboo, ADAM, Ohne Titel, ADAM and Jason Wu had some really interesting looks:
