Digby & Iona
I must admit my knowledge of jewelery is lacking, I don't necessarily seek out new jewelery designers. In fact my favourite jewellery brands are Robert Lee Morris, Elizabeth & James, LowLuv & Pamela Love. I think this is mainly due to my taste in jewellery isn't especially developed, beyond tarnished metal, feathers and military symbolism I really don't have much of a jewellery criteria. So when I stumbled across Digby & Iona, I seemed to have found a perfect jewellery brand.
With collection names such as 'Wanderer in a Sea of Fog', 'Hunter & The Hunted' and 'Fight or Flight' it certainly becomes one of the more interesting and relatively under promoted brands. Check it out:
Howling Wolf Ring $150
14 Point Stag Ring $330
Black Spot Two Finger Ring $220
Rimfire Bullet Necklace $170
Gryphon Key Necklace $120
Crossed Rifle Necklace $150
Lost Love Compass Necklace $250

Power Dressing At Its Finest
Yes, it's not the most original look in the world (she owes Grace Jones alot) but she seems to be the only person doing it right now, her tousled mohawk is such a welcome change to the loose tumbling ringlets that seems to be the only look young celebrities are capable of.
So when I saw the pictures of her going to a restaurant in NYC, they just seemed to encapsulate why I enjoy her style so much:
Firstly, she knows what suits her. That soft pastel lilac is a great colour on her and makes what could be a very basic dress become alot more interesting, it's ruching around the middle and asymmetric hem again adds to the detail of the dress.
Oh, the clutch. The gold clutch. Have you ever seen anything like it? Gold. Snakeskin. Metallic. Oversized. What more could you honestly want from a bag?
I even enjoy the sunglasses at night, it's just so decadent and over the top - and definitely a look best left to celebrities.

Monday Madness at NYFW
Okay, there's only two days left for NYFW but what a Monday it was! Marc by Marc, Vera Wang and Narciso Rodriguez were all so different but just perfectly New York. With Calvin Klein and Oscar De La Renta still to show, I decided to do a post just on the Monday Madness at NYFW.
Marc By Marc Jacobs S/S 10
I just love how...fun this is. Compared to the Marc Jacobs range this seems like a watered down more accessible version of Louis Vuitton F/W 09.10. It feels very Teen Vogue to me, and that's a huge compliment - I can't wait to make a DIY version of these silk bandana's with bright lipstick. It's now grown up dressing, but rather dressing your age - it's exactly how I imagined Jenny from Gossip Girl should dress, but she decided to take the Courtney Love route.
Vera Wang S/S 10
Vera Wang is a designer who I often feel is underrated. Yes, she gets the attention in US Vogue and she has her fair share of red carpet moments, but I would love to see some of the young starlets wear her designs more often. There's an understated romance and class to her designs that short party dresses from Herve Leger just can't offer. Imagine Leighton Meester or Diane Kruger is on one of these dresses, it would be such a nice change of pace to see someone really showcasing her designs.
Narciso Rodriguez S/S 10
Something I love about Narciso is his use of texture and colour. The 3rd image with the sheer skirt and sculptured heavy fabric over the top is such a perfect example of it. Although his colour palette is usually neutrals with flashes of colour every now and then somehow it never looks boring.

Karmen Pedaru
It's always quite something when a model you haven't previously noticed suddenly becomes the most memorable model for you thus far at NYFW.

NYFW (Part 2)
Uhm. How can I put this? Alexander Wang was a mess. Back in June I blogged about his wonderful resort show, it had evening wear that wasn't just a short sexy party dress and the grey top and beige 3/4 trousers were such a new direction for him. So it was with great confusion I looked at style.com this morning at the pictures from his latest show:
It's a leather jacket, with a white bikini top, a skirt made out of a shirt, grey footless socks and leopard print boots. This would all be passable but Alexander said after the show he wanted "We want to create clothes that are timeless and classic". The only thing classic about this is the leather jacket and even that's not great.
If a collection even manages to make Natasha Poly look bad...
